About Peter Illingworth Art
He was invited to join the Islington Arts Society in 2020, from which he has gained a lot of encouragement and his practise has flourished ever since.
Peter has exhibited widely, including at the Town House Spitalfields Open and the Chelsea Art Society Summer Show in 2024, 2025 and 2026. His style has evolved, informed by post-impressionism with gentle fauvist and contemporary influences. He really enjoys experimenting with brush patterns and trying out lesser-used pigments.

While working in a “sensible” job Peter attended summer courses at the St Ives School of Painting and became a member of the Barnet Guild of Artists. After a long pause bringing up family, Peter re-started painting in 2017, primarily in oil with London landscape subjects often incorporating figurative aspects.
